STARKVILLE — For the first time in nearly two years as Mississippi State’s coach, Sylvester Croom was embarrassed.
The first half against Kentucky had just ended with his team shut out. But it wasn’t the lack of output that struck him. It was the lack of intensity.
Croom gives extensive thought to his talks to the team. And at halftime in Lexington, he could only think of one option.
“When I walked into the dressing room and looked around, I knew I had to do something,” Croom said. “I got very vocal about it. That’s as angry as I’ve ever been.”
