STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Ricky Woods had 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead Southeastern Louisiana in a 57-46 win over Mississippi State on Monday.

The SLU Lions (2-1) made nine of 18 three point attempts to topple Mississippi State (3-2) for the first time in the 16-game series.

The loss was the second straight for MSU (3-2), who lost a one point overtime game to Northwestern State Saturday.

The Bulldogs, who started three freshmen, only dressed out eight players. Starters Piotr Stelmach and Dietric Slater were both sidelined with ankle injuries, and forward Charles Rhodes was sick.

Could be a long year. Hopefully everyone will get healthy quick.
