Former Bulldogs did well in week 2 of the NFL:
- Falcons FB Fred McCary played but did not make a catch or rush the football in Week 3 vs. NO.
- Falcons RB Jerious Norwood got one carry for no gain in Week 3 at New Orleans. He also had two kickoff returns for 69 yards.
- Falcons RB Justin Griffith carried three times for 16 yards in Week 3 at New Orleans and he added two receptions for 15 yards in the loss.
Giants DB Kevin Dockery was on the inactive list for Week 3 at Seattle. - 49ers DT Ronald Fields was on the inactive list for Week 3.
- 49ers CB Walt Harris recorded four tackles and forced a fumble in week 3 vs. Philadelphia.
- Bills LB Mario Haggan played but did not record a tackle in week 3 vs. New York.
- Bengals TE Reggie Kelly did not make a catch in week 3 vs. Pittsburgh.
- Raiders DE Tommy Kelly had a BYE.
- Packers TE Donald Lee caught one pass for 32 yards with no touchdowns in Week 3 as the Packers beat the Lions 31-24.
- Browns DE Alvin McKinley had five tackles in week 3 vs. Baltimore.
- Texans WR Eric Moulds caught four passes for 27 yards and no touchdowns in a loss to the Redskins 31-15.
- Vikings DB Fred Smoot Vikings CB Fred Smoot sat out the first defensive series Sunday against Chicago in Week 3. Early reports were that rookie CB Cedric Griffin replaced Smoot because the latter had a helmet problem. But coach Brad Childress made it clear Monday there was more to the situation. “That’s between Fred and I,” Childress said. “I’m not going to put it off as a helmet issue. No.” Smoot did finish the game with 5 solo tackles.
- Titans RT David Stewart was not active for week 3 in Miami.
- Redskins G Randy Thomas started in week 3 vs. Houston.
- Seahawks T Floyd “Pork Chop” Womack was not active for Week 3 vs. New York.
- Buccaneers DE Ellis Wyms did not make a tackle in week 3 vs. Carolina.
